Shaya [Touro, New Orleans, LA]

Back to Shaya, it was great the last time. And it was great this time too. Started off with the Lamb Ragu. As good as last time. Rosendo had the Lamb Shank and Persian rice, which was wonderful. And I tried the Roasted Salmon. Fabulous. It was flavored with tarragon, my all time favorite spice.

Shaya [Touro, New Orleans, LA]

Rosendo, Shawn, and I went to Shaya for dinner. WOW! Unbelievably excellent.

We were seated in the courtyard at the furthest table possible. It had high, whitewashed walls, and it was sort of maze-like. Sort of like if we were over in Israel.

First up was an Israeli Cabernet Sauvignon, very nice. Then as an appetizer, we had the Lamb Ragu. This was so good, that I could have just eaten this one thing. It came with a fresh-out-of-the-oven baked Pita Bread that was so light and fluffy. I can't emphasize how outstanding this was!

The next course was the For the Table dishes. I had the Brussels Sprouts, wonderful! Shawn and Rosendo had the Israeli salad, also wonderful. They also brought out a olive oil and spices dipping sauce for the Pita Bread. Shawn had the Lamb Kabobs as a small plate which everyone shared. It was more like a minced lamb sausage than a kabob, but it was good. Rosendo also got the Falafel, also good.

And finally, we had the Slow Cooked Lamb. It was a nice sized shank, and oh so good! Rosendo also ordered a side of Persian Rice. It was crispy and nice with baked cherries on top.
