Tavola [Hell's Kitchen, NYC, NY]

Our first night in NYC on a new project for NYCT. Great dinner at Tavola, it's an Italian restaurant just around the corner from the hotel. For some reason, the picture of my dish didn't turn out, but I got Jamie's and Ben's plates. Jamie had something meatballs in soup, he said it was great. And he really, really liked the restaurant. Ben had the salmon, also very good. I had the Chicken Alla Romana, which was also pretty good. Great marks for a restaurant on our very first night.

Brio Tuscan Grill [Tyson's Corner, McLean, VA]

Went to Brio Tuscan Grill at the Tyson's Mall for dinner. They had some delicious bread to start. I had the Shrimp Mediterranean.

It was pretty darn good!

Marcello's Restaurant and Wine Bar [Metairie, New Orleans, LA]

Went to Marcello's again, love it! Shawn G came with me. We had the Crabmeat Contessa as a starter, nice! I had the Linguine Tritone, delicious! And Shawn had the [something] Ravioli, she said it was great. For dessert we had a dulce de leche with amaretto poured over it and whipped cream. Very nice. This is one of my favorite restaurants!

Marcello's Restaurant and Wine Bar [Warehouse District, New Orleans, LA]

Met up with Mel and Cindy L at Marcello's Restaurant and Wine Bar in the downtown CBD area. Also just as good as I remembered it from the Metairie area one. We had a very nice bottle of wine, it was a Cabernet Sauvignon (can't remember the name).

Cindy and I had the Linguine Tritone. It had three kinds of seafood: Crabmeat, Lobster, and Shrimp in a mushroom, spinach, and sherry cream sauce. Wonderful!  Mel had the Eggplant Parmesan, also wonderful.

Afterwards, we took a nice walk along the Mississippi and caught up on our days since Little League Baseball.

Tony Moran's Restaurant [French Quarter, New Orleans, LA]

Went to Tony Moran's Restaurant after wandering around looking for a place on Bourbon Street. This was right next to the seafood restaurant of the same name. It was a pretty nice restaurant considering it was on Bourbon Street. Unfortunately, my memory fails me on what we specifically had, but I do remember it being delicious! I went with Rosendo, Saji, and Udaya. We ended up at Cafe du Monde for beignets!

Marcello's Restaurant and Wine Bar [Metairie, New Orleans, LA]

First, the bread was outstanding. It was served with oil and balsamic vinegar which the waitress poured onto our dish as we were sitting there. We had the fried calamari for an appetizer. Very tasty with a crispy finish, I liked the tentacles best.

I had the Shrimp Prosecco which was Royal Red shrimp, roasted red peppers, Prosecco and Cognac cream sauce, and fettuccine. It was outstanding! I asked the waitress to bring me an Italian wine that was similar to cabernet sauvignon. She brought me something that was very similar, but just a little fruitier.

Rosendo had the Linguine Tritone which was crabmeat, lobster, shrimp, mushrooms, and spinach in a sherry cream sauce. He really liked it. Udaya had the Eggplant Parmigiana which was a breaded eggplant scaloppini, premesan, mozzerella, marinara fresca, and linguine. She ate the whole thing it was so good.

For dessert we had a dulce de leche with amaretto poured over it and whipped cream. Very nice.
