Delmonico's Kitchen [Midtown West Manhattan, NYC, NY]

Had dinner with Rob A at Delmonico's Kitchen. We split the Delmonico Steak. Delicious!! And the jumbo Asparagus. Also very nice. I had the Uppercut Cabernet Sauvignon, it was good. A very nice evening indeed. We went across the street to the Pig and Whistle after and had another wine while we talked about work and life.

Had dinner with Derek W at Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse in Oklahoma City, OK. It was really nice, but they cut up my steak before I got it. We had calamari for an appetizer. I can't remember what Derek had, but I recall that he liked it.

Crescent City Steaks [Bayou St John, New Orleans, LA]

Went to Crescent City Steaks with Rosendo. Nice place, nothing fancy. Sort of old fashioned. Super hot plates! We both had the Ribeye. Very good! And for dessert, we had a piece of pecan pie. So good! I forgot to take a picture until the very end.

Or Teakhouse as we like to call it. Fabulous dinner! Shawn, Rosendo, and I went there for dinner, it was so good! And the service was great! I had the 12 oz Prime Rib, Rosendo had a nice Ribeye steak, and Shawn had something else with a side of Lobster Mac and Cheese.

The picture of the three of us was a nice touch.

Chophouse New Orleans [Central Business District, New Orleans, LA]

Went to the Chophouse New Orleans with Rosendo. We both ordered the 8 oz. Center Cut Ribeye. I had a side of asparagus with a side of hollandaise sauce while Rosendo had a fully loaded baked potato. The steak was cooked Pittsburgh style, charred on the outside with a warm red/pink center.


I also had the Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon, delicious. It was a very nice, quiet restaurant with a lot of class. And the waiter was great, attention to detail was impeccable.

So I gave Fogo de Chao another chance. It was much better this time. Having a good server certainly helped! We were seated next to the kitchen where the meat was roasted over a spit. It was quite nice!

Also visited Morton's the Steakhouse again this week. And again, wonderful!! I had the Filet Mignon which was delicious. I also had the Famiglia Bianchi Malbec wine, also very nice. Rosendo had the Rack of Lamb. It was outstanding!!

Saw this nice place down on Canal Street. We went there after a great day at work when we finally got the mapping to work! It was Michelle F, Rosendo, Saji, and I.

I had the Miso Marinated Sea Bass. It was wonderful. Light and sumptuous. Michelle had the Salmon, also delicious! Saji had the 6 oz. Filet Mignon with 3 Grilled Shrimp & 2 Bacon Wrapped Scallops. He said it was quite good. And Rosendo had the Ribeye Steak. Always a favorite.

Bill H came to town for a day, and he took us out on the town for a nice dinner at Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse. It was on the edge of the French Quarter just off Bourbon Street and Canal. It was delicious! He got a great bottle of wine, Chateau Simard Saint-Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend. Nice!

I ordered one of the specials, Three Tastings of Strip Steak. This was three 5 oz strip steaks: one with a wet rub, one with a dry run, and one was Waygu. The Waygu was pretty darn good, as were the others (which I saved for lunch and dinner the next day).

Bill had the Filet of beef, also wonderful. Rosendo had the Ribeye, yum! And Udaya had the local vegetable grill. She said it had a very nice flavor, but too many beets. I honestly can't remember what Derek had. :(

We ordered another bottle of wine, a Petit Paveil Red Bordeaux Blend. Also nice, but not as good as the first. For dessert, Bill ordered a wonderful cake made with sweet potatoes but tasted close to carrot cake. And Rosendo ordered the creme brulee, outstanding! The top was like a sweet crumble and not crusted over like most.

We stayed at the JW Marriott on Canal. Attached was a Brasilian Steakhouse, the Fogo de Chao. It was typical of the genre. Nice buffet, tons of meat! However, the service by our waitress was less than stellar, and that sort of ruined it for me. One nice thing, they had the Pai de Queso or cheese bread. Nearly like what I remember.

First off, who brings a vegetarian to a steakhouse? We did!

Side of Mushrooms

I split the Ribeye steak and Lobster tail addon with Rosendo. They were served on a 400 degree plate so there was slight char on it. He also ordered a side of sauteed mushrooms.

The steak was quite good, the lobster also. There was a lot of butter though.

Udaya had a pasta dish without the meat. She said the pasta had way too much butter or oil on it and didn't finish it. She also said it was overcooked and mushy. Then we went over to the Cafe DuMonde for dessert.
