Marcello's Restaurant and Wine Bar [Warehouse District, New Orleans, LA]

Met up with Mel and Cindy L at Marcello's Restaurant and Wine Bar in the downtown CBD area. Also just as good as I remembered it from the Metairie area one. We had a very nice bottle of wine, it was a Cabernet Sauvignon (can't remember the name).

Cindy and I had the Linguine Tritone. It had three kinds of seafood: Crabmeat, Lobster, and Shrimp in a mushroom, spinach, and sherry cream sauce. Wonderful!  Mel had the Eggplant Parmesan, also wonderful.

Afterwards, we took a nice walk along the Mississippi and caught up on our days since Little League Baseball.

New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood [French Quarter, New Orleans, LA]

Saji and I walked to the French Quarter near the Mississippi river and Cafe du Monde. We found the New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood restaurant. It's the same as the one near the office. We started with the Alligator Poppers. Very tasty! Then I had the Big Ch-easy burger. The garlic fries were a delight. As good as I remembered it. :) And Saji had the Catfish with a side of Jambalaya. Also very good.

Afterwards, a stop at the Cafe du Monde for beignets!

Morton's The Steakhouse [Central Business District, New Orleans, LA]

Saw this nice place down on Canal Street. We went there after a great day at work when we finally got the mapping to work! It was Michelle F, Rosendo, Saji, and I.

I had the Miso Marinated Sea Bass. It was wonderful. Light and sumptuous. Michelle had the Salmon, also delicious! Saji had the 6 oz. Filet Mignon with 3 Grilled Shrimp & 2 Bacon Wrapped Scallops. He said it was quite good. And Rosendo had the Ribeye Steak. Always a favorite.

Tony Moran's Restaurant [French Quarter, New Orleans, LA]

Went to Tony Moran's Restaurant after wandering around looking for a place on Bourbon Street. This was right next to the seafood restaurant of the same name. It was a pretty nice restaurant considering it was on Bourbon Street. Unfortunately, my memory fails me on what we specifically had, but I do remember it being delicious! I went with Rosendo, Saji, and Udaya. We ended up at Cafe du Monde for beignets!

Palace Cafe [Central Business District, New Orleans, LA]

Finally had dinner at the Palace Cafe, just a few doors down from the New Orleans Marriott. We sat outside on a lovely evening.

I had the 12 oz Ribeye which came with a shrimp garnish.  Rosendo had the Crabmeat Cheesecake as an appetizer. Very good. And he also had the Pecan Crusted Catfish.

Restaurant R'evolution [French Quarter, New Orleans, LA]

Went to the Restaurant R'evolution. Fabulous! We've been here before, and I've kept saying we need to go back. I like the atmosphere and the service. And the food is outstanding.

They started us with an Amuse Bouche. This is the only place I've ever seen do that.

I had the Seared Sea Scallops with Foie Gras with a lovely Ceretto Moscato Bianco from Italy. Wonderful. Rosendo had the Four Bone Rack of Lamb, which was also delicious. And Udaya had the Charred Eggplant Lasagnette.

Seither's Seafood [Harahan, New Orleans, LA]

Wow! This restaurant was great! Except for the crabby waitress at the end. But the food was outstanding both taste wise and visually.

For appetizers, we had the Fried Green Tomatoes and a separate shrimp dish (which we ate most of before I remembered to take a photo).

I had the Crab Cake and Fish Wrap. And the Sweet Chili Thai Chicken Strips. Both were fabulous! Rosendo had the Crab Boil. Wow! And Udaya had a Fried Eggplant Vegie Pasta which she said was kind of bland. But, it's not a vegetarian place, so I can forgive that.

El Gato Negro [Lower Garden District, New Orleans, LA]

Udaya went to an average Mexican restaurant called El Gato Negro (The Black Cat). The food was pretty good, but not outstanding. I had the Stuffed Poblano Pepper. Tasty!  I also had the Pineapple Cilantro Margarita. It was ...different... Udaya had some kind of grilled vegetable plate, she said it was also good.

Seed [Central City, New Orleans, LA]

Since Rosendo wasn't with us, Udaya and I went to a vegan restaurant called Seed. We took the St Charles Streetcar over to the Lower Garden District, pleasant ride. Seed was a small, unassuming restaurant. The food was delicious! I had the Polenta. It was great, sweet onions and raisins.  I also had a sustainable wine. A little tart, but nice. Udaya had the Eggplant Poboy, she said it was very good.
