Brennan's [French Quarter, New Orleans, LA]

This is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans, the service is impeccable! For appetizers, Shawn had BBQ Lobster which looked delicious and Rosendo had a Jackson's Salad which was good.

For the entrée, I had the Steak Diane made tableside. Outstanding! It had mushrooms, a carrot, and potato circles. Both Shawn and Rosendo had the Gulf White Fish which was also very good.

Then we had the Banana's Foster made tableside for dessert. Yum! Shawn had a special coffee drink which looked interesting.

Bourbon House [Central Business District, New Orleans, LA]

Shawn and I went to the Bourbon House for dinner. This is one of the four Dickie Brennan's restaurants, and the final one for me to visit. We had the Chargrilled Oysters as an appetizer. Tasty, but not the best I've had. Then we both had the Grilled Shrimp Scampi. This was also good, but it only had 5 shrimp. What!?

Since it was the Bourbon House, they had a Bourbon Club. We joined, it was free. Had a complementary pour of a Wild Turkey 10yr bourbon. Nice, but potent!

The food was good, but I have to say the service was lacking. The hostess didn't acknowledge us when we came in, then tried to seat us in the bar area. I thought maybe the dining room was full, but no. There was plenty of room. The only bright spot was James, the beverage boy. Our waiter was nice, but not attentive at all.

Ck's Hot Shoppe [Central City, New Orleans, LA]

So Rosendo wanted to go to a Filipino restaurant. We found  Ck's Hot Shoppe. It was a little dumpy, but the food was good. And the chef was famous, Chef Chrispin worked with Chef Paul Prodhomme. I had never had Filipino, but it was quite good. We had the spring rolls to start. Longer and thinner, they were good.

Then we had Kare Kare and Crispy Pata. One was ox tails with vegies and the other was a very crispy fried pork. Both were very good, but there was so much!

We had a wonderful Leche Flan for dessert which could have fed a family of six. A little eggier than a Brazilian flan according to Rosendo, but nummy nonetheless.

3 out of 4 stars because the restaurant was sort of dumpy

Restaurant R’evolution [French Quarter, New Orleans, LA]

One of my favorite restaurants! Shawn G and I went for dinner one evening. They started with an amuse bouche of arugula and field peas. It was good. Then, a nice bread with 3 kinds of butter. One regular with bacon, one with honey, and one with truffle oil. Yummy!

We both had the Four Bone Lamb Chops. They were unbelievably delicious! So good. Then, after dinner, we had a cute little box of treats. I love this place!

Creole House and Mr. B's Bistro [French Quarter, New Orleans, LA]

First, Shawn G and I had oysters with Rosendo at the Creole House. There were the usual chargrilled ones, ok. But then they also had Garlic and Bacon ones. These are my new favorites! Delish! Then we abandoned Rosendo in search of dinner.

Shawn G and I found a lovely little restaurant called Mr. B's Bistro. I had the cauliflower and baby swiss soup, while Shawn G had the gumbo. We both had the BBQ Shrimp. It was quite good. The shrimps were head on, so there was extra flavor.
